Easter Sensory Bin

One of my goals this year is making seasonal sensory bins that I can use year after year. I’m not a big fan of ones that use dried rice or beans because I think my daughter would just try and eat it all. And I don’t want to use perishable items because then I can’t keep it to use again next year. Those priorities are how I pick what to include in my sensory bin activities. Full list of items are linked 👇🏻

I hope this goes without saying but ALWAYS watch your kids while they are playing with any of these sensory supplies. While I make careful choices about what to include in these to minimize chocking hazards or risk, children should always be observed to ensure safe playing.

Supplies

Like I’ve done with other sensory bins I’ve put together, I was determined to not buy anything and just use items I had around the house, while still making it cute and giving it a theme. I decided to make this Easter one about color matching. The colors I used were decided by the colors of jumbo Easter eggs I already had from a previous DIY project where I made dragons eggs out of them.

I used matching colors of pompoms or card stock cut into a scalloped circle to fill the base of each egg to start. Then I added a smaller egg in the same color and inside of those I have pipe cleaners twisted into different shapes. See the making of it all on my IG reel.
