For Christmas this year, I made my daughter an Advent Calendar basket filled with little toys and activities. This sensory bin is one of the activities I planned.
The idea behind this it that it’s all the components to make a snowman, just deconstructed. So there are the fake snowballs (classic and with LED lights), ribbons to symbolize scarves, pipe cleaners shaped to look like little stick arms, and my daughter has some little toy carrots from a Lovevery toy that I added as well for the carrot noses. This could have been done with cotton balls or fake snow you make at home, but I wanted this to last for multiple years so I opted to get the actual snowballs. I imagine they’ll get used in many different ways as my kiddos get older. I found mine at Marshalls but linked similar classic ones from Amazon. The LED light ones were considerable cheaper in store though so I suggest checking your HomeGoods and Marshalls stores to see if you can find them. Detailed supplies & shopping list 👇
I hope this goes without saying but ALWAYS watch your kids while they are playing with any of these sensory supplies. While I make careful choices about what to include in these to minimize chocking hazards or risk, children should always be observed to ensure safe playing.

Supplies
- LED Lighted Snowballs
- Fake Snowballs
- Red and green ribbon curls
- Toy Carrots (I used Lovevery ones I already had but linked similar ones on Amazon)
- Plastic bin with lid (I like this one because I can stack 2 different sensory bins together)

All you do is toss it all together in a plastic bin and let the kiddos explore! I’m giving it to my daughter today as part of her Advent Calendar and can’t wait to see how she likes it!
Check out my reel on IG to see how this all comes together!
