Toddler Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas shopping and prep as a mom should count as an Olympic sport! It takes so much time, thought, and coordination to make sure you have everything ready to give your family the best Christmas experience possible. Coming up with creative gifts is always tricky too. To help with that I’ve compiled a list of gifts I have bought for my daughter or friend’s kids and can personally attest to. I hope this helps you check some things off your to-do list this busy holiday season! 🎅🏻

Big Gift Ideas

These are the “big” gifts we got our 14 month old daughter this year.

Tonies Starter Set We snagged a bundle on sale during Black Friday. According to the site she may be a little young to use this but she LOVES music and books so I think it’ll be perfect for her. I expect we’ll be the ones to place the figures on it for her so it won’t work for totally independent play but I don’t mind doing it with her.

Pottery Barn Kids Baby Doll We decided this would be the perfect gift because our sweet girl is going to be a big sister in just a few months! We’re hoping this will get her used to the idea of a baby and we can teach her things like being gentle with the doll.

Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair Our little girl is obsessed with books so this will give her a cozy place to sit while we read to her. We skipped the smaller size and went straight to the Anywhere Chair because she’ll grow into it and this way it’ll fit her for much longer. We of course had to get the dog cover for the chair since they are her current obsession and “dog” was her first word.

Books

We included a lot of these in our Advent Calendar so that every few days of December we had a new book for bedtime. A few of them we held back for her stocking.

Biscuit’s Pet & Play Christmas This book includes two of my daughter’s favorite things- touch and feel elements, and Biscuit the dog. “Dog” was her first word and she is obsessed with the original Biscuit book. Anytime we turn the page of a book and she sees a dog on it she immediately starts squealing “dog” so she absolutely loved this.

The Spirit of Christmas We have four other Nancy Tillman books and LOVE all of them. They are just so heartwarming and the Christmas one was no different.

Babies ♥️ Christmas Lift-a-Flap Book I’ve heard great things about this book brand and lift-a-flap books are always a hit with my daughter so I expect she’ll love this.

Merry Christmas Mouse This is another one of my daughter’s favorite book series. She has the Valentines Day, Easter, and Halloween ones so of course we had to get Christmas as well.

Moderately Priced Gifts

These were used as additional medium gifts we wrapped for under the tree or were included in her Advent Calendar basket.

Disney Pooh Bear Christmas Bamboo Dish Set We are slowly building up our supply of kiddo dishes and since our girl loves Pooh Bear I couldn’t resist this winter scene set when I saw it at HomeGoods. I can’t find it online but check your local HomeGoods & TJMaxx and hopefully you can snag it.

Melissa & Doug Musical Instruments Sound Puzzle My dad got the Wheels on the Bus version of this puzzle for my daughter’s first birthday and it is one of her favorite toys to date. So of course I thought another version of this would be a fun Christmas gift.

Crayola Mess-Free Touch-Lights I am so excited that my daughter is starting to get old enough to enjoy arts and crafts. I hope to do a lot of art activities over time and think this is a fun way to get her started.

Melissa and Doug Advent Tree I gave this for the first day of my daughter’s Advent Calendar and she has loved playing with the magnetic ornaments on it 🎄

Crayola Washable Fingerpaint Kit I used this as part of an Advent Calendar activity to make finger-painted ornaments so that we would have a fun keepsake. I think we’ll get a lot of use out of this with various crafting activities over the next few months.

Stocking Stuffers

Musical Boom Box My girl LOVES music. And while we try to limit how much she plays with these bright light up toys, we definitely use them for car rides or things like doctor’s appointments. I still much prefer this option over something like screen time.

Dancing Max Toy I found this in person at the store At Home and unfortunately can’t find it online to link. Amazon has several other dancing Christmas toys though like a Christmas Tree, a Reindeer, and a Snowman.

Bombas Baby Socks Now that my daughter is walking she struggles a bit with her socks on the hardwood floors. I got these because they have grippers on the bottoms so I’m hopeful they’ll be easier for her to walk around the house in.

Christmas Party Glasses I found an old pair of heart shaped sunglasses a few months ago and gave them to my daughter and she was immediately obsessed with them. She tries to put them on both me and my husband whenever she sees them so I thought these Christmas glasses would be a fun toy for her to play with and for us to wear around the house to elicit some giggles.

Animal Puzzle Set Our nursery is safari themed so anytime I see safari animal toys I can’t help but get them. This was a HomeGoods find so always keep your eye out in those stores because sometimes they have the best toys and always at the lowest price. My daughter is very interested in puzzles lately too so this should be a hit.

And that’s it! Hopefully some of these will give you ideas for your own family and help make the holiday season a little less stressful. Merry Christmas! 🎁
